What is redness?
Skin redness is caused by the overactivity of the blood vessels in the face. This can be caused by diet, hereditary factors and sun exposure to name a few. Although at first redness may only occur under certain conditions, over time the blood vessels dilate and create a more permanent-looking facial redness. This can also occur in the neck and chest (décolleté) area.
How do we treat redness?
We use IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) to treat redness. The Intense Pulsed Light is directed at the skin. The system filters the light to ensure the wavelengths used are absorbed by the haemoglobin (the blood in your problem vessels).
The light is converted to heat, which destroys the protein in the wall of the blood vessels, causing the vessels to gradually disappear after treatment.
To ensure the best light transmission, a thin layer of gel is applied to your skin before your treatment.
Here at the La Pelle Clinic in London we have treated hundreds of patients successfully for skin redness. Book your free consultation now and speak to one of specialists to find the best treatment for you.
